Tipping is a cherished tradition in Costa Rica, and our dedicated staff greatly appreciates your generosity. The number one question that guests ask, “How much should we tip?” To help, we’ve provided some guidelines below, but please feel free to adjust based on the exceptional service you experience.

Typical Tip Ranges (per stay):

Lenin (Experience Manager): $350+ to $600+
Chef Jose Mario: $350+ to $600+
Housekeeping & Groundskeeping Team (4 staff members): $500+ to $1,000+ (total)

These ranges vary by group size:
​
Groups of 8 or fewer: Start near the lower end of the range.
Groups of 9–10 (without guest house): Aim for the middle.
Groups of 11+ and/or with guest house: Consider the higher end or more.

The Owner's Story
Our home base is in Dallas, Texas, but we are avid travelers and have been all over the world. We have visited Costa Rica many times and fell in love with the the nature, the culture, and the people. On one of our many trips to Manuel Antonio, we stayed at The Villa Mariana and instantly felt that it was truly a special place. It was unlike any place we had ever been. We simply had to make it ours!
